This one started with a DJ, a roller rink, and the unspoken truth that gravity has absolutely no respect for confidence.
Skate at Your Own Risk was inspired by Dennis Desario, the man behind the music, the lights, and the kind of beat that can convince grown adults their knees are still under warranty.
It is a retro roller-rink anthem for everyone who ever laced up, rolled onto the floor, got a little too brave, and suddenly remembered that the floor is undefeated.
And somewhere in the booth, Dennis is watching the beautiful chaos unfold.
There are speed demons flying around the outside lane.
Couples trying very hard to look graceful.
Kids who somehow have complete control of eight wheels.
And the rest of us making very serious decisions about whether the wall rail counts as skating.
That is really where the song lives.
In that moment when confidence and coordination stop agreeing with each other.

You pull yourself back up and roll out again like absolutely nothing happened.
