Everything Needs a Name
“Everything Needs a Name” is inspired by that wonderfully curious stage when a child realizes the world is full of things, people, sounds, and places, and every single one of them has a word attached to it.
For Aubrey, learning a new name turns something ordinary into a little discovery. A dog is not just something furry walking by anymore. It is DOG! The moon, a bird, a shoe, a tree, a car, Mama, Papa... each new word gives her one more way to understand and talk about the world around her.
“Everything needs a name, and I know lots of them now!”
The song follows that growing confidence from pointing and asking “What’s that?” to proudly shouting the answer before the grown-ups even have a chance to say it.
It is a short, happy celebration of language, curiosity, and that amazing moment when a toddler's big little world starts filling up with names.

You point at the sky,
We tell you the names,
As the whole world goes by.

You learn a few more…
Soon you’re shouting the answers
Before we can anymore!

Learning names near and far!

Learning together, laughing loud!
